MiMi는 영상 편집 프로그램의 레이어를 ‘미미’라는 인물로 의인화하여, 영상 매체 속에서 쪼개지고 다시 합쳐지는 일종의 도플갱어 이야기이다. 편집 프로그램 내에서, 미미의 영상 클립이 두개의 클립으로 쪼개져 미와 미가 되는 것은 미미가 자신과 똑같은 영상 편집 레이어의 ‘격’을 가진 또 다른 도플갱어 미미를 만나는 것이 된다. 화면 속 미미의 배경 속 이미지들은 수직 수평의 레이어 속에서 미미의 위치를 구분 짓는 중요한 포장지로, 이야기 속의 또 다른 규칙 속 조합되어버린 이미지이다.

Within the editing interface, the division of Mimi’s video clip into two clips—Mi and Mi—constitutes an encounter with another Mimi who shares the same “level” or stratum as an editing layer, effectively producing a doppelgänger of identical structural status. Mimi splits a single base video containing her own face into two, separating into Mi and Mi, and as clips accumulate, multiplies into Mimi and Mimi.
